Guide

Welcome!  You've entered the Worlds of A. Catherine Noon.  I hope you enjoy yourself.

Here is a brief guide to what you'll find here and on my other blogs.

The main blog is here, where you can explore the worlds of A. Catherine Noon.  You'll find stories, Thursday 13 entries, and links to other blog posts.  There are two ways to navigate.  Blogs are date-driven, so you can poke around in reverse date order (the posts are listed most current date first).  There are category labels, which will direct you to similar types of posts.

A few highlights:

In March of 2008, I participated in a story-a-day contest called March FADness, which stands for "flash a day."  We got the prompts in the morning, and had to write between 500 and 1,000 words by the end of that day.  I completed the challenge, and here are the stories:  March FADness.

Also in 2008, a meme focused around flash fiction got rolling called Flash Fiction Carnival - a meme I'd like to see continued (stay tuned).  Here, though, are the stories I wrote for the Carnival.

In 2009, I wrote 22 shorts as part of a self-generated "Mai Madness."  I learned a couple things; it's easier to write than to not write, I love to write all different kinds of things, and it's more fun to play in a group.  Here, though, are the stories of Mai Madness.

I participate in several group blogs.  The oldest of these is the Writers Retreat Blog.  Since I "pants" as opposed to "plot," meaning I don't write from an outline (at least not initially), I wanted to show how this can be done.  My novel, The Night Is a Harsh Mistress, is hosted on this blog.

The next one is with my coauthor, Rachel Wilder.  We are releasing our first collaborative novel, New World Order, on our blog Taurus and Taurus.

My newest group effort, Nightlight, Bedtime Tales for Adults, is home of my novel Initial Public Offering as well as works by some of today's most talented up-and-coming authors.  Check it out!

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy  your time here, and decide to interact with me through the comments on the posts.  If you have any questions or suggestions, don't be shy!  Join the discussion!
